22nd annual Carol Festival
Join us on December 1st for the museum's longest running and most popular event! The 22nd annual Carol Festival features the music of the season from local choirs, musicians, and singers. Doors open at 6:30 pm, performance begins at 7pm. Admission is by donation to the Gem of the West Museum Society.

December 8th will be the final opportunity to view artifacts on loan from the RCMP Historical Collections Unit in Saskatchewan, currently on display in our Canada 150 exhibit "The Early History of the RCMP in Southern Alberta".

The Gem of the West Museum facility will be closed for the holiday season from December 24th through to January 1st. We will re-open 9am on January 2nd, 2018.

The Arts and Culture Committee of the Gem of the West Museum is pleased to host a Pop Up Art Shop featuring work by local artists, March 23 – 25. This event will run Friday 4-9pm, Saturday 10am-6pm, and Sunday 1-4pm. Contact the committee at [email protected] for details or to submit your art for this event.

Join the Mennonite Historical Society of Alberta at the Gem of the West Museum on April 28th for the Grand Opening of the travelling art exhibit "Along the Road to Freedom", which will be hosted in our Scotiabank Art Gallery. The Mennonite Historical Society's AGM is at 10:30am, followed by the Grand Opening program and reception at 1:30pm. Donations to the Mennonite Historical Society will be accepted.

The 2018 Summer Season begins May 14th. The museum will be open Monday to Friday from 9am - 4pm, and Saturdays 9am - 3pm until August 31st.
